Be a Member!

Only current members of the MWCDC are eligible to vote for board members or issues that arise during voting meetings. The bylaws state that one must be a member for at least 30 days prior to voting. Don't let your membership lapse. All memberships run from August 1 through July 30 each year.

Give an Additional Gift!

Since our founding, MWCDC has held the line on membership costs. But you don't have to limit your financial commitment to this community by stopping at the $3.00 or $5.00 membership level. Please consider making an additional contributions above and beyond your membership level this year.

Many grant programs have match requirements, and a healthy cash match from community members can be a great selling point to a public agency or a foundation. Money raised from the community is a powerfully persuasive indicator of community-wide support and commitment to any project. Help MWCDC advocate for the projects that YOU care about by voting with your checkbook!

As always, proceeds from MWCDC fundraising activities are used to implement the mission and vision of the MWCDC, on strategic plan initiatives that were formulated through intensive community survey and multi-sector community input, as MWCDC continues to implement vital strategic initiatives like the Mainstreets program, Grand View Scenic Byway Park, youth programs and a housing initiative.

Business Owners? MWCDC Can give you PA State Tax Credits!

Benefit the community, while getting more bang for your company's philanthropy buck! MWCDC is working with PA DCED on various tax credit programs such as NAP & NPP. MWCDC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is supported through private foundation and government grants, membership, fundraising events, and donations from individuals and businesses. All contributions of time and money demonstrate support for MWCDC's work on behalf of the Mt. Washington and Duquesne Heights residents.

MWCDC Board Elections are being held October 16, 2008 at the Annual Meeting. Elections will take place at the Senior Center on Virginia Avenue at 7pm.

Be A Volunteer!

Attend any one of MWCDC's monthly Forum meetings or join a committee. Your neighborhood needs your skills and talents. Call the office for more information or simply stop by and get involved. If you can't join a committee, consider a donation instead.

Make a Difference when you Shop! Give to MWCDC by using GIVELINE. Participating Giveline retailers share a portion of their profits with non-profit organizations.

All MWCDC donations are tax-deductible and can be made in the form of cash, checks, money orders, or credit cards. It can be as little or as much as you like. Think of it as an investment in the future of our neighborhood. Donations can be a one time deal or can be sustainable over the course of the year. For example, when you make a pledge of $120, we charge $10 each month to your credit card. Keep in mind that if your employer has a matching gifts program, we can double the impact of your contribution. We value your financial support and work hard to give a great return on your community investment.
